Rosemount is a unique, quiet small town that has a high quality of life. You will notice the city keeps in small town feel while offering all the amenities of big city life. The nickname of Rosemount is “the Irish” and community pride definitely shows.
The downtown district of Rosemount is going through a revitalization along South Robert Trail. The area will include over 100 luxury apartments along with 13000 square feet of commercial and retail space. Given the redevelopment of this area, more developers are contacting the city of Rosemount for more potential redevelopment.
There is also current debate about the UMore Park and what should be done with the land. Umore Park is the largest land grant in the United States and is owned by the University of Minnesota. Public forums have come about with a plan to develop the land into a master planned community that would take 25-30 years to develop. The plans are develop a sustainable community that provides plenty of green space and promises to be the future.
Neighborhoods of interest? Rosemount real estate is growing, although the building has tapered off. There are some very popular neighborhoods in Rosemount, especially Evermoor, Harmony Village and Meadows of Bloomfield. Evermoor and Harmony Village offer community centers within the developments, miles of walking paths and rolling hills.
Like Apple Valley and Eagan, schools are very important in Rosemount. The cities school district is part of ISD 196 which is one of the biggest reasons the residents decide to live in Rosemount. The schools always perform well and are award winning. Rosemount also has one of the largest technical schools in the state with Dakota County Technical College.
